Choirs from Hollywood, Billesley, Yardley Wood and Highters Heath are joining forces again to sing their hearts out at this year’s Happy Valley Festival.
We will be singing in the arena at 2.30pm – and keep your fingers crossed for a dry afternoon!
If you are in the choir, the words and music are here to practice.
As it was Election Day Hollywood used democratic voting to vote for the new Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Eco Committee. Lots of staff and pupils read the manifestos and cast their vote. The results of the secret ballot will be announced soon!
Year 2 decided to vote democratically to name the butterflies that are developing in their cocoons in 2BP. The winning names were Rainbow, Poppe, Ryanair, Fluttershy and Katie Rosy.
We are helping to make the world better with a sweater! Friday 12th December will be ‘Wear a Christmas Jumper to School day.’ We are raising money for Save the Children. Children are invited to wear a Christmas jumper (bought or made!) and bring a donation of £1 into school to support the work that Save the Children do at home and abroad.
The choir had a very exciting afternoon today! Free Radio came and recorded our entry for this year’s Christmas Stars competition. Foxy and Guiliano (and their beautiful little girls) came along, and HumFree popped into visit too! The children sang brilliantly and made me very proud! Don’t forget to listen for our entry on Free Radio 96.4fm from the 17th November – then VOTE FOR HOLLYWOOD!
We will keep posting updates to the Free Radio website.
This week at Hollywood, we are commemorating the centenary of World War 1.
Each class is taking part in their own way, researching and learning about how the sacrifices made in both World Wars have impacted on our lives today.
Keep checking the HollyBlogs to see what we have been doing.
